Founded in 2006 in Carmel, Indiana, by artist and gallerist Magdalena Segovia, Magdalena Gallery is an artist-led contemporary gallery with her work at its center, presented alongside a select group of artists.
Now located in Richmond’s historic district, the second-floor gallery serves as both an exhibition space and working studio. It sits above Mattie’s—a curated consignment shop rooted in individuality—and among independent businesses with distinctive perspectives.
Magdalena Gallery is proud to be part of a neighborhood that values individuality, creativity, and independent expression.

With a foundation in figurative painting, Magdalena approaches abstraction through the memory of form. Her work moves between semi/abstraction and full abstraction, yet remains rooted in the object, allowing recognizable forms, fragments, and natural references to shift into color, movement and atmosphere
