About the Artist
Michael Daly lives and works in the heart of Saint Paul’s Lowertown. His artistic energy springs from a convergence of the powerful Lake Superior and, far across the world, the breath-taking river valleys of China.

Born in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and reared in Duluth, Minnesota, a hillside city overlooking the great Lake Superior, Daly developed an appreciation for all of Nature’s seasons and moods.  Studies with master watercolor painter Cheng Khee Chee at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and an intensive summer program at the Zhejeiang Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzou, China, refined Daly’s unique artistic style-the combined discipline of Chinese brush work with American expressionism and sense of color.

Michael Daly graduated from the University of Minnesota with a combined degree in Art, Asian Studies and Business.  This diverse course of study makes it possible for him to live not only for art, but to live by it.
