Drawing Class - This is a sixteen week course that introduces the basics of drawing and then proceeds to expand on techniques the students have already acquired to reach a higher level of drawing ability. This is a course that accommodates beginners and students who have already had previous drawing experience. The course will cover all the essentials and basics of drawing. The aim of this course is to cover all the basic foundations for drawing so that students may further their drawing skills. The aspects covered will be: perspective, basic shapes, light v. shadow, landscapes, still lives, creative abstraction, the human figure, and many more. For enrollment in this course we ask that you please pay half of the course’s fee before attending the first class and then pay the remaining fee at the end of the course. For your convenience, payment for the full tuition at the beginning of the course is optional. For students that desire to participate in this course, but decide after courses have already begun, it is strongly recommended that you take some private classes as substitution before attending the course. This course runs on a sixteen week cycle and will continue to do so as long is it maintains the enrollment of the required number of students.
Painting Classes - These are painting classes for beginner to advanced students. The aim of this class is to help students develop a pictorial reality or style of their own, while also learning the different concepts involved with the different styles of painting. Acrylics are an important medium to the contemporary painter thus the class is taught mainly with acrylic paint because of the paint’s quick drying time and its relevance. The use of acrylics gives the student the opportunity for the teacher to correct them within a class period and develop their skills quickly. Nevertheless those who desire to mainly work in oil may, for the use of oil will also be introduced in the course. The mechanics of this class work as follow: each session the teacher will have a studio set up for the students to paint. These studios will be designed with the purpose of teaching the students a new concept in painting. The next session the class will study a particular painter. For those students who already have individual projects the teacher will coach them and give advice on the different concepts and techniques they need to better develop. As a result of the small amount of students per class, every student is insured adequate attention from the teacher, and is allowed to work at their own pace.
